Anonymous asked: How difficult was it when you first became vegan? How exactly did you start?
I think the idea of it is harder to deal with than actually going ahead and doing it! I first started just to see if I could do it, and I was mainly doing it for health reasons. Because of that, I would still allow myself ‘cheat days’ once a month and after a while a fell out of it, I lost a lot of weight, though! Anyway, a while after that I decided to go back to it, once again for health reasons, and once again I found it really easy to get back info the swing of things. A few weeks in I started thinking about the negative effects of eating and using animal products, and ever since then I’ve had no reason or desire to turn back. As long as you do your research into what nutrients you need in your diet, and feed your body as much as it needs, it shouldn’t be too hard. There are so many vegan products around that can substitute for the animal foods that you might crave, and more importantly, so so so much info about the meat, dairy and egg industries that will put you off going towards those foods. In the end though it is just food, and I love it as much as the next person, but if you think about the fact that a living being suffered and died for it, it’s very easy to become and stay vegan!
